{W.I.P} Wednesday

It's hump day, whoop whoop! I'm excited about today because I get to go visit one of my best bloggy friends Heidi from Antlers & Roses. So glad we live like 20 minutes from each other!

If you've been following me on IG and Facebook, you've seen that I am now making infinity scarves. Can we say addicted? I love creating things, but it's even better when that thing takes less than 10 minutes to make when I run a household that consists of one adult child {I love him anyway} and two littles plus a doggie! I'm all for easy! {Okay, I do like a challenge now and again, too.}

So I've been pumping out infinity scarves like there is no tomorrow, but I have one I am currently working on that I can't finish quite yet. Why? This mama doesn't have any time! Hopefully I'll be able to get it done this weekend so I can wear it. Yep; this ones for me and me only!
{Although the feather print reminds me of another dear bloggy friend of mine Torrie from Free Spirit Reigns}
Lovely fabric picked from the ladies at Picking Daisies in SLO

Eeeeeee, can't wait to get this one finished!

{W.I.P} Wednesday

 Happy Wednesday!

This past weekend we took a spontaneous road trip up the coast on Hwy 1. It was a lovely day and we had a lot of fun. One of our stops was Cambria, which is just North of us about 30 minutes. We meandered around for a bit and wandered into a shop called Ball & Skein. I've been wanting to knit up some kitchen scrubbys so my honey bought me a skein of moss green hemp yarn. As soon as we got home that night I went straight to knitting them up.

But then something tragic happened and my skein got royally tangled and now I am stuck because it is quite a disaster. I am about ready to host a 'skein untangling' party because I absolutely cannot figure out how to get it untangled and I really want to get these done. But I made some decent progress on one...
I do not, by any means, call myself a knitter, but I can knit a mean square just fine!

It may not look pretty, but hey; if it gets the job done who cares?
Who wants to come over and help me untangle this mess??

{P.S. I got these gorgeous knitting needles at Eco Bambino!}

{W.I.P} Wednesday

Today I am working on a little project for myself. Now, you've seen this fabric before in a WIP edition {and you will be seeing a whole lot more of it, I promise!}, but I just can't let all this pretty chevron arrow fabric go to waste!
I had half a yard left of the lovely Japanese fabric from the bag I am making myself so I decided to make myself a mug hug to go along with it.

I just need to find the perfect button to go along with it and it's good to go!

{More on my fancy new 'label' later}

I need your help! I have about 1/3 of a {usable} yard left of this amazing fabric and don't know what to do with it! Please give me some suggestions on what to make!! Thanks!

Oh and if you haven't yet, go enter this awesome giveaway sponsored by Katrina Marie of Kids Sewing. And I am also a part of a really big giveaway hosted by Jessica of Girl Booklet! Be sure to head on over and enter and show her some love.

Happy Wednesday!

{W.I.P} Work In Progress Wednesday

Hello! Happy Hump Day! It is time to share with you what I am currently working on.

I received a custom order for two Kindle Fire sleeves from a good friend of mine Delaney. She is really in to pin up and had some great material for me to work with! She wanted one for her man also, but he isn't in to the pin up style so much for him self so I had some awesome type fabric that is just perfect for the guy.

So far I have all the cuts made {exterior and interior fabric} and selected a button for his sleeve. I still need to find a cute button for Delaney's, though. The inside fabric is a super soft organic cotton fleece by Michael Miller. I have it on the inside of my Kindle sleeve and love it!

{{All fabric was purchased at Fabricworm}}

I should have them finished up by Friday ready to give to her this weekend.

Watch for a tutorial on how to make a Kindle Fire sleeve {adjustable to any tablet you have and even for your cell phones!} later on in the week.

{W.I.P} Work In Progress Wednesday

 Welcome to the first week of Work In Progress Wednesdays! Each Wednesday I will share with you the progress of a project I am working on whether it be our bedroom, a sewing project, or a DIY project; you'll get to see the process!
This week I am sharing with you what I am working on for myself; a tote. Lately {especially with the Stitch Market} I haven't really sewn much for myself and after finding some amazing Japanese fabric on Etsy, I decided it was about time I do.

I had a hard time selecting fabric for the interior, but I finally found the perfect one

I have an amazing collection of bags, but I wanted something unique and a sewing project that was going to challenge me. I've made totes before; mostly in a reusable grocery bag form, which is a simple construction - outer fabric, lining, boxed bottom, handles. With this tote for myself I wanted to add more elements to it so that it would not only challenge me, but set it apart from anything I own and anything that is out there. Im adding leather handles, including a cross-body one {I hope}; zippered interior pocket; and a 'cinch' for the outside. I'm also using fusible interfacing, which is something that I have never worked with before! Here is my inspiration bag...

 I plan to use leather lacing cord in a dark brown or mustard to cinch it. Ahhhh, just talking about it right now is getting me even more excited!

Ok, so now for the progress part... I currently have the entire main part of the bag constructed and finished! I love how stiff the bag is with the interfacing... definitely want something durable and something that will keep it's shape.

All that is left is getting the lace cording and attaching handles.

I also am working on a few chevron mug hugs with a backing of the same fabric as the interior of my bag. All I need to do is add the buttons and they're good to go. Two of them will be going towards prizes for some giveaways and another is going into the shop.

Do you have any works in progress? Leave me a link {or a description} in the comment form below! I'd love to see what you're all up to!

Did you know I'm having a Blog Design Reveal + Giveaway? Head over for your chance to win some amazing prizes from eight amazing sponsors! There's still time to enter! {Ends January 5th}.
