Pinspiration Friday

This weeks Pinspiration is super functional! And much needed in the bathroom or your camping supplies! I saw this over at The Burlap Bag and knew I needed to put this craft under my belt. I changed it up, using the entire lid, which made it easier to stick the sand paper on. 

To make this you will need:

a mason jar with lid

stick on fine sandpaper {not super fine}

strike anywhere matches

Put the matches in the jar

Trace the lid on the back of the sandpaper and cut out

Stick on to lid

Put lid on

So easy!

Pinspiration Friday

I'm not much of an embroiderer, but I know how to. I like to keep my projects simple, fast, and small so I don't get too overwhelmed. I love the look of embroidery because it reminds me a lot of my childhood and seeing all of the embroidery hoops on my grandma's walls. I want to fill my walls with them too so when I saw this Pinspiration I knew it was something I could tackle in a few minutes time. 

I don't have a lot of embroidery hoops and none that are very big, but after completing this project I am hooked on wanting to make more and make them bigger. So off to the craft store I go to get some larger hoops.

Pinspiration Friday

Happy Friday! How was everyone's week? Mine was super productive! I love weeks like that. It mostly has to do with blogging and some other awesome stuff that a bloggy friend and I are creating. I know, the suspense! You all will find out soon! Mostly because we are just SO EXCITED for this to happen and to get started and are becoming impatient! Soon. Soon.

Today I am sharing with you one of the first pins I had added to the Pinspiration Friday board months ago. I have been wanting to make it for the kids {mostly Bry right now} so we headed to Home Depot this week and got what we needed for it.

I took that concept and made it my own. I really wanted to use some big scraps of fabric I have had sitting for over a year now and found a pretty moss green piece screaming 'staple me, staple me!!'

In the original pin, she used duct tape, but I'm a cheapskate and all of the duct tape I have cost me a pretty penny so fabric was a much better option for me. My daughter and I took the fabric and stretched it around the board and stapled it.

I am not that good at this apparently, but it works. 

The dowel we had purchased for this purpose is a little too small so we need to head back and get a bigger dowel.

But Bry had fun trying to get herself balanced anyway. She has been on it for the past 30 minutes seeing how many times she can stay balanced and for how long. I wish everything entertained my kids this much all the time! Ha!

I love that the ingredients are simple and with the Koolaid it smells so yummy! All the kids in the neighborhood wanted in on the fun too!

Well, A Beautiful Mess has done it again! They have given me inspiration in beautifying my life. And this time it is with cardigan elbow patches! Here is their inspiration:

So cute! I have been wanting some elbow patches on a couple cardigans of mine so this was perfect in getting that accomplished. 

I originally was going to hand sew my patches on, but I didn't really like that look {for me} so I used some Wonder Under and ironed on my patches. 

I love it! I'm so excited to be sporting this cardigan today!

Happy Friday everyone! This weeks Pinspiration has something to do with food! I love food! 

A while back I came across a pin that said 'Its 0 POINTS! Genius! 1-2-3 cake'. 0 points? I don't know what that means exactly, but hey, 0 isn't a lot so it's got to be good! And cake? Yes, please! So I checked it out and it is the most genius thing EVER that I just had to try it out. 

Here is the original post - Aunt Betty's 1-2-3 Cake

It's super easy and incredibly yummy! Plus, you wont feel bad eating it! 

Get two boxes of cake mix. One in your favorite flavor and the other has to be angel food cake.

Mix together in a container or you could use a fancy zip loc bag like I did.

Stir three tablespoons of the cake mix with two tablespoons water.

Microwave one minute.

 Doesn't that look delicious!? 

You can either eat it like that or add toppings to it. The options are endless! You could do syrups, sauces, jelly, whipped cream, fruit... I added some chocolate syrup and blackberries. Yesterday I put a drop of caramel sauce in it before I nuked it and it had a caramel center! 

 I have made this six times since Monday!! So good!

Pinspiration Friday

Happy Friday! I am excited it is Friday because it's the weekend and Miss Bee's first volley ball game is on Sunday! Woohoo. So proud of her and cannot wait to see her in action. 

This weeks Pinspiration stems from an obsession of mine - Chevron! I've been eyeing some chevron knuckle rings, but couldn't see myself purchasing some when I could make them myself. I originally saw the rings on Etsy from HandmadebyNinaRae.

I had put it off for a while because I was trying to figure out how to make it, but I had some free time this week since the Holidays are all over with and sat down to try and figure it out.

All I had lying around the house was really thin jewelry wire from a previous project and some picture hanging wire - the picture hanging wire won since it was thicker and easier to work with. Here is my first attempt.

 I really liked how it turned out, but there was something not right about it, so I made two more to have the stacking look. I really like my second attempt at it.. they're not as pointy as the first attempt.

Totally going out and getting the proper tools for this and am going to make a ton more. I don't know what the heck I will do with them, maybe give them to some of my fave bloggie friends, who knows? >wink wink<

Pinspiration Friday

Good morning! Happy Friday! Have you all recovered from Christmas yet? We haven't. Our house is still torn apart and we are slowly putting things back together and away. Wow, we made out pretty well. What an awesome Christmas and an awesome first Christmas for Oliver. Since things are a little on the hectic side, Im bringing you a Pinspiration that was posted on the previous blog, but I feel needs to be shared here. This went up in the Pinspiration Friday board shortly before Bry's birthday last month and was a little birthday surprise for her.

A long while back I came across on A Beautiful Mess {seriously, these women are an inspiration!} this darling little a-frame tent and a how-to on how to get it done. Being the lazy pinner I am, I forgot to pin it and it was lost forever. Until I dusted off my Kindle and saw that I actually had bookmarked it! So I finally pinned that sucker to my Pinspiration Board, gathered the materials, made a few things for the inside, and put it all together.

It sure came out lovely!

Now that is lovely. I love how she used the crocheted cover! But in order to be frugal I just couldn’t find anything similar at the thrift store that I liked for my vision. But I did find a pretty vintage floral sheet with ruffles, which gives it a cute little shabby chic look and coordinates well with the quilt I have for the inside.

Now if this silly rain would go away {at least just for a day} we can put it back out side and Bry can hang out in it then it would be perfect. But in the garage it must stay. Thank goodness I made oversized pillows for her to relax on.
